The CCSE explained
Last updated 2 November 2026
The CCSE is the test of constitutional and sociocultural knowledge of Spain. The Instituto Cervantes runs it.
What the test looks like
There are 25 questions and 45 minutes. You need 15 right to pass.
The 25 questions are split into five parts:
| Part | Questions | Format |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10 | Three possible answers |
| 2 | 3 | True or false |
| 3 | 2 | Three possible answers, with a map |
| 4 | 3 | Three possible answers |
| 5 | 7 | Three possible answers |
Every question is worth the same. A question left blank counts as wrong.
How to practise it here
Our free mock follows the same split: 25 questions, 45 minutes and the same five parts. At the end you see your total score and the score of each part, so you know where you lost marks.
